Dunes and Defences Photography Workshop

£100

Total cost: £315 including lunch and refreshments. Group of 4.

The coast near Rye in East Sussex offers tremendous variety for photographers. Camber Sands has vast, shifting sands backed by towering dunes. Rye Harbour is known for its iconic red roofed hut but there is so much more to it, including old pill boxes, and an unusual and imposing sea wall. Meanwhile, the long storm beach at Winchelsea is scattered with interesting wooden sea defences, worn over the years into sculptural forms. Rachael shoots here often and she will lead this workshop, choosing the locations best suited to the conditions on the day. There is plenty of scope for practising long-exposure photography, for capturing more abstract or detailed shots or for traditional, wide-angled vistas. As always, a small group size (maximum four) means that the workshop can be tailored to your individual interests and experience. Over lunch, there will also be a chance to look at some editing techniques and an opportunity for image review.
