Printing workshop in Weybridge, Surrey, with Rachael Talibart and Adrian Beasley.
Building on and replacing our popular 1-day advanced printing workshop, this longer workshop will truly stretch you as a printer, introducing you not only to a wider range of fine art ink jet media but also many types of alternative papers. We will encourage a more experimental approach to printing, as always working with your photographs, so that you will leave with a collection of beautiful prints and the confidence to take your printing even further.
Description
Advanced printing workshop
This workshop is suitable for experienced printers only, particularly graduates of our two-day printing workshop, our virtual printing master class or our two-day black and white editing and printing workshop. During the first day we will have the opportunity to iron out any issues that may have arisen with your printing and you are welcome to bring example prints with you. The main focus of the day, however, will be editing and printing more pictures from your portfolio. As before, we will have a range of fine art papers for you to choose but, this time, they will be different from those you used in your earlier courses with us. During the second day, you will have the opportunity to experiment with some more unusual papers and learn how to use the fine art paper paths through the printers. Available media will include rice paper, Awagami washi paper, vellum, blotting paper, and some surprises we're keeping secret for now. We will teach you methods for handling alternative media without damaging your printer so that you can continue to experiment at home.
You will need to bring your laptop with a selection of images to work on. You can use almost any editor but some have limited printing capabilities, so we recommend Lightroom, Photoshop, Affinity or Capture One. If you do not have a laptop, we may be able to accommodate desktop machines. Please get in touch to discuss.
