Pier and Wreck Photography Workshop

£100

Total cost: £315 including lunch and refreshments. Group of 4.

Photographers frequently overlook the coast around Bognor Regis yet it abounds in opportunities. Rachael Talibart grew up here, literally a stone’s throw from the beach, and her local knowledge ensures that f11 workshops’ tour visits the best locations. In the morning, we will explore underneath Bognor’s Victorian pier, opened in 1865, and we will also have a chance to photograph a rare, wrecked portion of WW2 ‘mulberry harbour’ that has been rusting on a quiet section of the beach since 1944, only revealed at mid to low tide. For the afternoon, we will head west. Likely locations include Dell Quay, a picturesque hamlet on the banks of Chichester Harbour, one of the few remaining undeveloped coastal areas in Southern England, and the nature reserve at East Head where we will finish the day.

This workshop is led by Rachael and it is predominantly landscape and seascape orientated. If you use ND filters, bring them along as the locations chosen are perfect for practising long exposure photography.

Description

You will need to get to the start of the workshop, in Bognor Regis (exact location to be confirmed a few days before the workshop), under your own steam.  You will then have the choice of using your own car to drive between locations or coming in Rachael's car.

This is not a particularly strenuous workshop and we are able to park reasonably close to all the locations. There are short stretches of shingle beach to be negotiated at all locations and, depending on the recent weather, some of these may be steeply banked.

To secure your place on the workshop, we take an £100 deposit payable via PayPal now (no PayPal account needed). Please select the date from the dropdown menu above and click the 'add to basket' link. Four weeks before the workshop, we will require the balance, which is payable via Bank Transfer. You will receive instructions by email.
