Total cost: £295 including a light post-dawn breakfast, lunch and refreshments.
Join Rachael on the East Sussex coast for an opportunity to work from dawn to dusk. Most of our workshops begin after sunrise because it’s not normally possible to incorporate dawn and dusk into a day-workshop. However, as we approach the winter equinox, sunrise and sunset are closer together, allowing us to create this special, slightly longer than usual, 9-hour workshop. Due to the limited dates when this can be achieved and the particular tidal range required for Rachael’s chosen locations, we will only be running this workshop occasionally.
During the day, you will visit some of the county’s finest coastal landscapes, most within the South Downs National Park. In recent years, this coastline has been the focus of Rachael’s own photography and she knows the best locations for all conditions. Our exact itinerary will vary depending on the light but it is likely to include the magnificent cliffs of the Seven Sisters, Beachy Head and Birling Gap and, if the conditions look promising, there may even be a chance to capture some serious waves.
This workshop is slightly more strenuous than most of our coastal tours and requires a moderate level of fitness, as there are a few stretches of walking at a gradient, some slippery terrain and possibly some wading (wellington boot height). If you are not sure whether it would be suitable for you, email us and we will discuss it in more detail.
You will need to get to the start of the workshop, on the East Sussex coast between Eastbourne and Newhaven (exact location to be confirmed a few days before the workshop) under your own steam and, while COVID restrictions or high numbers of infections remain, we will ask that you also use your own car to drive between locations if at all possible. This is quite straightforward and we haven't lost anyone yet!
