Our Workshops

From Capture to Print, Wey Navigation

£100

Total cost: £335 including refreshments (please bring a packed lunch), Fotospeed fine art papers, pigment inks, use of Canon and Epson printers. Group of 8.

A one-day workshop led by Rachael and Adrian that combines capturing photographs on location and post-production.

The Wey Navigation is one of the jewels in Surrey’s crown. Constructed a hundred years before the canal age, the Navigation runs for just under 20 miles from Weybridge to Godalming. The Navigation and its towpath provide a tranquil green corridor through some of Surrey’s loveliest countryside.

On this workshop, we will explore an short section of the Navigation, chosen the week before based on conditions. We will rendezvous in Weybridge where you can leave your laptops and packed lunches, and then Rachael and Adrian will drive the group to the chosen location. This year, Rachael chose the beautiful area near Walsham Gates in Ripley. In addition to classic landscape compositions, you will be encouraged to find detailed and abstract subjects.

We will return to our classroom for lunch and then in the afternoon we will work on processing your photographs from the morning. With only 8 clients and 2 tutors, there will be plenty of time for individual attention. Although this is not a dedicated printing workshop, you will also be able to take away at least two finished fine art prints of your favourite images, more if time allows.

This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn by doing so you will need to bring your own computer with the latest version of Lightroom Classic and/or Photoshop, or Capture One already installed. Ideally you will bring a laptop, but your desktop can be accommodated with prior notice.

To secure your place on the workshop, please pay a £100 deposit via PayPal now (no PayPal account needed). Deposits are non-refundable. Please select the date from the dropdown menu above and click the ‘add to basket’ link. Eight weeks before the workshop, we require the balance which is payable via Bank Transfer. You will receive instructions by email. Please read our terms and conditions as these govern the arrangements between us.
